How to choose an online course
Most people choose a course the wrong way round — they start with what is advertised and try to justify it. Start instead with the job description of the role you want next.
Three questions, in order
- Does a rule in my path name a degree? A PhD, a government post, an HR band policy. If yes, take the university degree route and verify DEB entitlement.
- What capability is actually missing? If it is a specific skill, a certificate delivers it faster and cheaper than a two-year programme.
- Am I staying in my sector? A specialisation matching your current industry converts better than one that merely sounds impressive.
Then, and only then, compare price
Within a tier, courses are broadly equivalent. Buy the cheapest credible option inside the tier your answer points to. Detail on the fees page.
